May: a perfect month in Montpellier
In May Montpellier change.
Winter is over and the weather is warmer. It’s looks like it’ s summer. The university are almost closing for holidays and studients are enjoying the last moments before go back home.
May is a perfect month to discover the city with a special feeling and of course, some of the most important event are during this month.

Battle of the year
-The 4th of May-
The BOTY is the most important breakdance battle organize in France.
Each years crews from all the world are coming in Montpellier. This is definitively one of the most important event of the city and Hollywood did a film about that!

The Jam's Paillote
-Between May and June-
In may, close to the beach all the restaurants and paillotes are opening and they are ready for the begining of the touristic season.
In Montpellier we do not have directly the beach.. but we have the Jam and this incredible event.
Every thuesday and friday during a month the JAM organize 3 concerts for free and the fisrt one is always on the garden with accoustic music.
This is a perfect moment to take a special tapas and try the local wine.

Fête des Mamas
– Sunday 26th of May –
Mama Sound is a must have in Montpellier. This is a free event calendar that you can find in all the bars of Montpellier.
Once a month, they organize a festival usually call “Mama stock” but during May, this festival is during the Mother’ s day so.. fête des mama(n)s.
This is a totally free music and art event. A perfect sunday of chill out in a perfect spot.

Festival International des Sports Extremes (FISE)
– 29th of May to 2sd of June –
This is the most popular and impressionnant event of the year in Montpellier.
During one week, Montpellier become the center of the extrem sport world and hundreds of pro in differents sports (BMX, Inlines Skate, Skateboard etc.) are coming.
The city become totally international and crazy during days and nights!
